Prof. Saraju P. Mohanty is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and institution builder with more than 25 years of experience in higher education across India and the United States. He has held leadership positions as Founding Dean, Associate Chair/Head, and Professor, providing transformative leadership in university governance, academic innovation, research excellence, faculty development, and global engagement.
He is currently leading the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Technology Institute (AiTI) at SRM University-AP, driving the university's vision of becoming an AI-native institution aligned with the goals of India's National Education Policy (NEP 2020). His leadership focuses on creating future-ready academic programs, interdisciplinary research ecosystems, industry partnerships, entrepreneurial innovation, and international collaborations.
A globally recognized scholar and educator, Prof. Mohanty has published more than 600 peer-reviewed research articles, secured over US$4 million in competitive research funding, authored five books, and holds six patents. He has consistently been ranked among the world's leading scientists in Computer Hardware and Architecture and has received numerous national and international honors, including the Fulbright Specialist Award.
Dr. Mohanty has been serving as a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of North Texas (UNT, USA), where he directs the Smart Electronic Systems Laboratory (SESL). His research and leadership have been supported by major agencies including the U.S. National Science Foundation, Semiconductor Research Corporation, and the U.S. Air Force.
